Staycation Decaf

This blend was created to be our do-it-all decaf option, whether used for decaf espresso, pour-over, or cold brew. For anyone familiar with specialty coffee, you know that decaf comes with a bad reputation, and is, at times, a forgotten offering. We take all coffee seriously, though, including decaf! In sourcing, we aim to find green coffee with chocolate and caramel notes, that present extremely mild and clean. Usually this means focusing on selections from Mexico and Brazil. We also tend to use extra heat at the start of our roasts to really fully develop our decaf beans and reduce any unpleasant taste characteristics that can be associated with decaf coffee.

Water-processed decaffeination begins by soaking the green coffee in water to expand the beans, which are then introduced to a solution of coffee solids (everything that makes coffee coffee except for caffeine). This solution draws out the caffeine, but helps maintain the flavor, as no synthetic solvents are used and the caffeinated liquid is simply passed through filters.
